Navier-Stokes equations with turbulence model in ALE form

In the case of turbulence flow modelling, the standard Navier-Stokes equations are compleated with an appropriate turbulence model. The turbulence model usualy consists from transport equation for eddy viscosity, which is solved together with Navier-Stokes equation. In this case, the Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model was used. All of the equations are written in ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian - Eulerian) form, which allows to solve the problems with the time varying boundary.

Example

This example show simulation of 2D turbulent flow of air through blade cascade with described kinematic motion. The Reynolds number Re = 50000 and angle of attack α = 0. Two pressure ratios are considered: Π = 0.6 and Π = 0.4.
